B3's Brilliant Bunch: 2012

Last Thursday Pohutukawa Team went to the Blue lake (Lake Tikitapu) for our end of year trip. We went with our parent helpers and teachers and teacher aides. After a 20 minute journey we were dropped off around the back of the lake for our walk. It took us 45 minutes to walk back around to the front. The walk was beautiful it was so peaceful and quiet. Greats 'n' Grans Morning

Last Friday morning we had some very special visitors in our classroom. They came because it was Greats'n'Grans morning at Glenholme School. Twelve of us had our either our grandma, nanna, nanny, oma, poppa, papa, koro, or grandad come to see what school is like today and to share their school stories. First we had to introduce our whanau to the rest of the class. Next we all went through to B5 for hui whanau. Our greats'n'grans got to experience all the wonderful things we do during hui whanau. We sung school songs and waiata plus we performed a few haka which they loved! During the morning we heard from some of our vistors and they shared things like their art work, school photos, their old school books and something they are currently learning. Laurana's nanna brought in her ukelele and played us a song called "Over the Rainbow". After they shared with us we showed them how to use the mobi pad and pen, they found this fascinating. Eventually the bell rang and our greats'n'grans went over to the hall for a special morning tea. They were entertained by the school choir and kapa haka group. Finally they came back to our classroom where we all did Word Toons and a couple of brain break games. We had a wonderful time with our special visitors and enjolyed hearing all their school stories and memories.

Greats 'n' Grans on PhotoPeach

End of Term 3 Treat! on PhotoPeach

On the last day of Term 3 we had a treat. It was spagetti bolognaise with grated cheese, bread and a drink. Whaea Susan wanted to treat us for our hard work during the term and for our marevellous performance during the production. We had a shared lunch while watching a movie called "Ailens in the Attic". Samuel said the spagetti bolognaise tasted tomatoey and it was delicious! We all loved it and we felt really happy and sleepy after a big kai.

What a Treat! Thank you Haeun's Parents!

Whaea Susan and B3 were extremely surprised when Haeun's mum came in with a HUGE tray of sushi!!! Haeun was celebrating her birthday the next day so her mum brought in a treat for all of us - including Whaera Susan. We had delicious sushi for morning tea and lunch. Haeun's mum also gave Whaea Susan a HUMONGOUS bag of lollipops - Whaea Susan had bever seen such a huge bag of lollipops. Thank you very much Haeun we were incredibly spoilt!

A Rugby League Star in the making!

B3 was thrilled and very proud of Henry when in brought in his rugby league trophies and certificates. Wow Henry we knew you were skilled on the sports field but 4 trophies that's amazing!!!!
